Nick Hawkins - Managing Director
Nick is a multidisciplinary Environmental Consultant. Nick studied at UEA Norwich before gaining a Master's Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Southampton. Nick began his career working as a hydrological engineer, but soon became involved in other aspects of environmental assessment, principally noise, vibration, air quality and daylighting.
During the last ten years, Nick has worked on the environmental assessment of a variety of projects, including some large prestigious projects in the rail, highway, aviation and wind energy sectors. These projects include the Thameslink rail scheme, the expansion of Dublin's Luas Line tram network, the M25 widening and the expansion of Bournemouth Airport. However, Nick frequently works on smaller scale projects, typically residential, mixed use, educational and healthcare schemes and will often manage all of the environmental assessments, including noise, air quality and flood risk assessments.
During Nick's career, he has worked of projects for clients such as Network Rail, the Duchy of Cornwall, the Irish Rail Procurement Agency, Defra, the Highways Agency, Jacobs, Southern Water, Buro Happold, Bloor Homes, Wessex Water, Persimmon Homes, Broadland District Council, Bristol Rovers Football Club, Norwest Holst, New Forest National Park Authority, Portsmouth Football Club, Institute of Cancer Research, Dean & Dyball, West Berkshire District Council, Barratt Homes and RPS.
Nick's first paper was published in July 2008 at the EuroNoise Conference in Paris. Nick is a Member of the Institute of Acoustics, a Member of the Institute of Air Quality Management and a Member of the Institution of Environmental Sciences.
